Game 3. Pens are back in it!
48Pens take game 3. Still down 2 games to 1.
So I was off by 1 goal on my last prediction. And this time, I was correct with the winner! However, the Pittsburgh Penguins, even with their convincing 4 - 2 win in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Detroit Red WIngs on Tuesday night, still need to keep the same pace going into game 4 tonight in Pittsburgh.
I still think the referrees did a horrible job of doing THEIR job. At one point during the contest, the Penguins had 6, yes 6 players on the ice for a more than considerable amount of time. Neither the Penguins bench, the Red Wings bench nor the officials saw the blatent mistake. With that being, Pittsburgh lucked out on a sure-fire "penalty-to-be" called against them, and in doing so, found the strength and will to play hard the remainder of the game and take it to a win in strong fashion.
I'm not really going to ever be convinced that the officiating in the National Hockey League is somewhat on a biased level though. I like Pittsburgh, I really do. I just don't see how the officials could miss a call so obvious as that. With that being what it is, it's just that - it is what it is. What's done is done and cannot be accounted for now. It didn't give the Penguins any type of advantage, and it certainly did not play any role in the outcome of their victory. That in itself, was done by pure determination and skill.
Game 4 will be televised on Versus beginning at 8 pm, (EST) and I look forward to this growing rivarly with great anticipation! I think Detroit will come out "swinging", and I use that term loosely... Getting Datsyuk back in their lineup will be a HUGE factor towards the Red Wings hopes for a 2nd consecutive Cup. Crosby, Malkin and Fleury will have their hands full, but will be up to the challenge Detroit throws at them.
My Game 4 prediction - Pittsburgh (once again: and I promise it's not out of any biased favoring) 3 - Detroit 1.
Have a great Thursday everyone!
